Mesa, with an average annual temperature of 84.5 F and an annual precipitation
of less than 8.5 inches, enjoys more than 300 sunny days per year.
Population:
The 85 members of the First Mesa company were joined by more and more
settlers. From those humble beginnings, Mesa has grown into the third
largest city in Arizona and today is home to more than 448,000 individuals
with a median age of 32.
Recreation:
Mesa's Indoor Aquatics Center which opened in 2003, Hiking trails
in the Usery Mountain Recreation Area and tubing on the Salt River
are only a few of the recreational possibilities in and around Mesa.
Sports:
Baseball fans flock to HoHoKam Stadium to watch the Chicago Bears in
Spring Training. A complete Aquatics program, adult and children's sports
leagues plus tennis and volleyball opportunities abound in Mesa

& Culture:
The Mesa Arts Center with four theaters, and arts "studio"
building and a gallery complex opened in 2004. The Mesa Historical Museum,
Mesa Southwest Museum and the Arizona Museum for Youth provide opportunities

Employment
Until the 1960's more than 50 percent of Mesa residents earned their
